Description:
HiTi 631PS features a TFT LCD Wizard Window, enabling photo printing without
connecting to a computer. A stand-alone digital photo printer designer for
printing lovers, HiTi 631PS features a handy controller with a Color LCD Wizard
Window and is capable of outputting high-resolution 4x6 inches photos with or
without a computer. The HiTi 631PS is the replacement for the 630PS and is third
model in the HiTi photo printer range. It is also the first model in the range
that can be used stand alone without the need for a PC. Quality is every bit as
good as the more expensive printers, even the top of the range 730PS prints at
the same 300dpi resolution (equiv, to 4800 dpi inkjet printer).
The 4x6 prints are not only borderless but are waterproof and fingerprint
resistant, the special paper used is almost tear proof ensuring that your photo
quality prints stay that way. Prints can be either Gloss or Matt finish and this
can be selected using the easy to use Photo Desiree software. As with all HiTi
Photo Printers the quality is superb, with the ability to print 16.7 million
true colors, it's no wonder that some professional photographers use HiTi photo
printers instead of conventional photo labs!
Using the 631PS without a PC is simplicity itself. There are two slots on the
right hand side of the front of the unit that can accept SmartMedia,
CompactFlash, Multimedia, Secure Digital or MemoryStick without the need for an
additional adapter. An adapter is however required if you wish to use an
xD Picture Card
in the printer. Once the memory card is installed in the printer, images can be
selected using the hand controller on the left hand side of the unit. This
controller has a built in LCD screen which allows you to select which pictures
you wish to print and how you wish to print them. If you camera supports DPOF,
you can select the pictures to print on your camera by simply pressing a few
buttons on the 631PS - the appropriate images will then be printed.
Print Speed while still very respectable is not the fastest in the range with a
4x6 print taking 130 seconds (2 mins 10 seconds) to print. This is still faster
than a lot of Inkjet Photo Printers.
A carry case is available as an optional extra if you want to carry your printer
around. The unit is compact at 8.6 x 8.3 x 5.5 inches (21.8cm x 21cm x 14cm) and
so will fit on even the smallest of desks. The printers only weighs 5.5lbs
(2.5kgs) The 631PS is powered from the mains and will operate from 110-240vac
50/60 hz with a typical maximum power consumption of 150 watts when printing,
this is much less when in idle mode.
